- You can use it before to prevent allergy pollen
- It can be administered to children and adults
- Has mild side effects.
How Beconase Spray Works?
Because aqueous Nasal Spray is administered through the intranasal route only where it has an antiinflammatory effect within the respiratory system.
It's highly effective since it works right where the problem starts, which is in the nose, compared to tablets, which take a longer procedure to work.
For younger children, smaller doses are recommended for the medicine to work efficiently and effectively.
How long does Beconase nasal spray take to work?
It can take up to 2 days before you start to experience relief of symptoms, but it is important to keep using the spray for a full therapeutic effect.
How to use Beconase Spray?
Directions of use for Beconase Allergy Spray.
If this is your first time using a nasal spray, follow this procedure to administer Beconase into your nostrils.
- Shake the bottle and remove the dust cap.
- Gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils.
- Close one nostril with your finger. Hold the spray with your thumb at the bottom and your index and middle fingers on the sides of the nozzle.
- Place the nozzle on the other nose, lean your head forward.
- Breathe in gently, and while still breathing, press down firmly on the collar with your fingers. A spray of fine mist will be released into your nostril.
- Breathe out and repeat the same procedure for the other nostril
After you are done using your spray, make sure to wipe out the nozzle with a clean tissue and place back the dust cap.
Make sure to follow your pharmacist's instructions on how to use Beconase nasal spray. The intranasal spray should not be used by children under the age of six. You should use the medicine regularly, at least twice a day, to get better results.
Adults and children of 6 years and older should start their dose by administering 2 sprays per nostril twice a day. The maximum number of sprays to be administered in 24 hours should be 8, that is, 4 sprays per nostril.
The pharmacist may advise you to take 8 sprays per day only when your symptoms spike and lower the number to 4 sprays per day when symptoms are lower in number.
How to clean your spray?
Your intranasal spray must always be clean to avoid contamination with germs. Clean it immediately after use or at least twice a week to prevent blockage.
- Remove your dust cap and pull the white collar to take off the nozzle.
- In warm water, soak your nozzle and dust cap for a few minutes.
- Rinse them with running water.
- Put them in a warm place to dry.
- Put the nozzle back on the spray.
- Prime the spray pump as described by your pharmacist.
How to Prime Beconase Nasal Spray:
- Shake the bottle well.
- Hold it upright and press the nozzle several times (usually 5–6) until a fine mist appears.
