Overview
NOTE: After selecting this product, you will need to complete a short assessment, so we can make sure this medication is suitable for you.
What is Rhinolast, and what is it used for?
Rhinolast is an allergy nasal spray that helps relieve sneezing, itching, and congestion caused by hay fever and indoor allergens like pet dander and dust. It’s ideal for people aged 6 and up when over-the-counter remedies don’t work.
How does Rhinolast nasal spray work?
Rhinolast hayfever spray contains Azelastine hydrochloride, an antihistamine that stops histamine—the chemical your body releases when reacting to allergens. This helps relieve sneezing, congestion, and other allergy symptoms.
How quickly does Rhinolast start to work?
Rhinolast starts working within 30 to 60 minutes of use, offering quick relief from allergy symptoms for up to 12 hours. For optimal results, use it regularly during allergy season or as prescribed. Moreover, if your allergic rhinitis is caused by severe inflammation, Rhinolast may take a few days to reach its full effect.
How to take Rhinolast spray?
Rhinolast is not for people allergic to any of its ingredients or for children under 6. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medications, check with your doctor first. If you accidentally use too much or it gets in your eyes, contact a healthcare provider. For any concerns, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
- Before using it, read the patient leaflet carefully.
- Always ensure the solution inside the nasal spray remains sterile (free from germs).
How to Use:
You must use Rhinolast for hay fever according to your doctor’s recommendations and guidelines.
- First blow your nose then remove the protective cap from the product. Before the first use, press the pump several times until you get an even spray.
- Spray one (1) spray into each nostril keeping your head upright, do not tilt your head back. Wipe the nozzle and replace the protective cap. This should be done once in the morning and once in the evening. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Adults & kids (6+ years): 1 spray in each nostril, twice daily.
- If you miss a dose: Take it as soon as you remember, but don’t double the dose.
⚠️ Discard your nasal spray six months after first opening. If you still require Rhinolast, get a new prescription from your doctor.
Missed dose
If you forget to take Rhinolast, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is too late or time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at your regular dosing schedule. Do not take double or extra doses to make up for a missed one.
Overdose
If you have sprayed too much Rhinolast into your nose, you are unlikely to have any issues. However, in case of an overdose, contact your doctor immediately to avoid any serious complications. If you accidentally spray Rhinolast in your eyes, wash them with plenty of water. It will sting for a while.
